Association of Pakistani-Descent Physicians of North America, South Texas Chapter (STC) was founded on December 15, 2000 by Dr. Sardar Daud Khan as the Chairman of the Board and first President and Dr. Asaf R. Qadeer as Board Member and first President Elect. In last several years chapter has grown from a few volunteers to one of the large chapters in APPNA’s network.
South Texas Chapter has been involved in various charitable activities. During earthquake disaster in Pakistan, chapter donated about 80,000 cash to Human Development Foundation (HDF) for children educational and refugee settlement purposes. About a million dollar worth of medicine and equipment was also shipped to hospitals located in northwest region of Pakistan.South Texas Chapter organized APPNA central annual meeting in year 2005 in Houston. This was one of the most successful meetings which raised about two hundred twenty thousand dollars for the organization to support its charitable causes.
